Share your Adegga activity on Twitter

July 29th, 2009

We want to make it easier for you to share your Adegga activity on other services you are already using. You can now publish your Adegga updates directly to Twitter (soon to Facebook too).

adegga_twitter_integration

To enable this feature, go to your Account settings and look for the ‘Twitter activity updates’ section. Once you allow Adegga to connect to your Twitter account (all done via OAuth so we don’t even see or store your Twitter details) you can start reviewing, marking as favorite, etc. your wines and your activity updates will show up on Twitter.

You can of course configure which specific activity updates you want to use. From Adding a wine as tasted / cellar / favorite all the way to writting a new wine review.

Please let us know how it’s working for you. If you would like us to changing anything let us know too.

Taking good care of spammers

July 23rd, 2009

Since the beginning of this month we’ve been getting dozens of spammers visiting Adegga with the only intention of using our community to create backlinks to their own sites.

We’ve been relentless with these people and have spent some time deleting these spam accounts (usually in a matter of minutes) and making sure this content does not show up on the site.

We’ve also stop allowing links in bio profiles (removing all html tags from that content) and making the site rather useless to these people. Still, some spammers continue to add links (that can’t be seen). If you’re reading this I would recommend detailed attention while reading this Wikipedia entry on Hyperlinks.

If you see any of this bad content just let us know in the comments or through bugs@adegga.com. We’ll take good care of it.

Integration with Wine-Searcher.com (4,000,000 wine prices)

July 23rd, 2009

We’re very happy to announce that we’ve integrated Adegga with Wine-Searcher.com and you are now able to access 4,000,000 wine prices from 14,512 wine shops from around the world.

wine_prices_ws

For every wine on Adegga the sidebar will include a Where to buy box where you’ll be able to check prices for that wine. Prices are shown in EUR by default but you can change to USD or GBP at any time without leaving the wine page.

Based on your location
We all want to know where to find a specific wine around us. Wine prices are shown by default based on your current location. Youcan always change this location and check wine prices elsewhere. We’ll soon make sure the default location is the one you added to your profile.

In the next couple of weeks we’ll be integrating Adegga and Wine-Searcher even more. Adegga Mobile, Your friends recommendations, Adegga Search and Your wines, will all include these new wine prices.

As always if you have any suggestions or comments please let us know!

My Recommendations

July 14th, 2009

Now that Adegga is fast approaching 7,000 wine ratings/notes and 1000 favorites we’re ready to start helping you choose wine in new and interesting ways!

We’ve build the first social and personalized wine recommendations page!

The list is based on the your friends top favorite wines (who can recommend wine better than your friends?). You can see who are the friends who’ve favorited the top wines and also if you’ve already tasted each of the wines.

Just labels

July 3rd, 2009

We’ve been working on creating different and interesting views for your wines.

We’ve recently added a nice little touch that allows you to see just the labels on your wines. To view them look for these buttons on your wines page:

Here’s how the just labels view looks like:
